Ricardo Faria, State Secretariat of Tourism, Minas Gerais, Brasil
With a degree in Physiotherapy and Occupational Therapy, I chose to help others throught my legacy in public health. In Contagem, my hometown, I took my first steps in favor of the community, where I was a councilman for two terms.
With the support of the population, I was re-elected as the city’s best-voted candidate. Between 2009 and 2012 I was the President of the Health Commission of the Municipal Council of Contagem and, following the invitation of mayor Carlin Moura, I was responsible for the city’s Health Department.
Aiming higher, in 2013 I took another step in my career when I joined PCdoB and applied for state deputy, winning 44,758 votes. The following year, I assumed my mandate in the Legislative Assembly of Minas Gerais (ALMG). Later, invited by the state governor Fernando Pimentel, I assumed the State Secretariat of Tourism (Setur MG), where I currently work.
